Sometimes we forget that the broken systems that come with Type 1 Diabetes are so complex that we tend to beat our selves up a lot when it simply doesnt work or it does the total opposite of what it is supposed to do.
So its over once again, the 2016 Ride to cure Diabetes looked so far away when I registered in July last year but it came and went in the blink of an eye, generally that happens when your having fun right? A few of us even came close to missing the plane from Perth to Adelaide, apparently gate 20 is not the same place as gate 20A and 20B, woops.

In less than 2 months it will be my 16th diaversary, 16 years of enforced learning about how to manually mimic one of the bodies most complicated processes and you know what?? I’m still learning.

There is one thing about D that really annoys me and I know it annoys everyone else running this version of corrupt human software…it is the unpredictable factor.
For me swimming is not my strong suit, I admit I am getting better at it but when D is playing games with you during the night, it becomes hard to get motivated to go train in the pool.
I wanted to share with everyone my journey this year to completing a half Iron Man… I come from a cycling background only and I have always hated running and I look like I am drowning when I swim.
